Over the holidays I tossed a few ribs into the pizza oven just to see what would happen… and they ended up stealing the show from the actual pizza. Turns out these ovens can grill, roast, and even bake desserts like champs. So here's a quick guide for everyone. Feel free to add anything you have in mind!

Meats That Shine
  • Steaks - Sear at high heat for a steakhouse crust.
  • Ribs - Slow‑cook at lower temps using a cast‑iron pan.
  • Chicken thighs/drumsticks - Crispy skin, juicy inside.
  • Brisket or pork shoulder - Works surprisingly well in insulated ovens.
Veggies & Sides
  • Roasted peppers & onions - Sweet and smoky.
  • Corn on the cob - Wrap in foil or char directly.
  • Potatoes - Whole or smashed in cast iron.
Breads & Snacks
  • Garlic knots
  • Flatbreads
  • Focaccia
More tips:
  • Use cast iron for anything saucy or delicate.
  • Let the oven cool slightly for BBQ temps (350–500°F).
  • Rotate dishes often - pizza ovens have hot spots.
  • Add a small chunk of wood for extra smoke flavor.

Do let us know what’s everyone else cooking besides pizza so we can add it to this list!
